A LITTLE ABOUT THE COUPLE
Tara grew up in Salisbury, graduated from UNCC and work in Public Relations/Communications. Ross grew up in Mount Pleasant and now owns his own business. We both love the Lord, our families and friends, the beach, snow skiing, traveling, to laugh and good food!
HOW THEY MET
Tara and Ross met in college. It was right after exams and before Christmas break and we both ended up at a mutual friends party. Tara and her friends were getting ready to leave the when Ross stopped her and spoke. She promised him she wouldn’t tell exactly what he said, but needless to say, it still makes her laugh to this very day. This was back when AOL instant messenger was popular and the next day he sent Tara a message…and that’s where their friendship began. At the time, Tara wasn’t interested in anything more than a friendship, but thankfully after a while she changed her mind!
Tara and Ross went to Ocean Isle for the weekend with some friends and after dinner one night their friends suggested a walk on the beach to the end of the island. Tara had no clue of what was to come and I’m going to let her tell the story!
“Ross and I needed to stop by the house first and our friends headed to the end of the island and we told them we’d meet them there. When we got to the end of the island we parked and headed out on to the beach. It was a beautiful, warm afternoon, so we walked hand-in-hand down the beach when I decided I wanted to talk down by the water. (Oops, the way I wanted to walk was apparently not in Ross’ plan…he got a little worried.) We walked down by the water when I saw his sister ahead, so Ross nonchalantly tried to get me to walk towards her direction. When we did, we came across a bottle laying in the sand with a note, stuck in the top…it was when Ross said ‘What does it say?’ and noticed he was coming around behind me that I realized what was going on! My heart started to race with excitement!!! Ross got on one knee and asked me to marry him, I was overwhelmed with emotion and happiness! I always imagined what this moment would be like...trying to hold back my tears I said ‘YES!’ I had no idea that our friends were hiding behind the dunes watching the whole time and when I said yes they lit up the sky with beautiful fireworks. I remember being so surprised and overwhelmed with excitement that when the fireworks went off I yelled ‘It’s like we’re on the Bachelorette!’ Ross’ sister was just close enough that she captured everything with her camera. It was the most perfect moment! After the fireworks stopped, Ross said ‘Look who’s coming down the beach.’ I looked and it was my sister and my niece! Ross put so much thought into every detail of the evening and the proposal it was beyond perfect! When we got back to the house, our friends and sisters had the house decorated to congratulate us. Ross’ sister got me the cutest basket full of bride-to-be goodies and also had doughnuts made in the shape of an engagement ring! We celebrated on cloud 9 the rest of the night surrounded by friends and family!”
“If I could go back to our wedding day and do it over and over and over again I would. I ask Ross all the time if we can. It was the most perfect, magical, fairytale day of our lives! Ross and I did not see each other the day of our wedding before I walked down the aisle and that was so fun for us. That morning I hung out with my bridesmaids, mother and mother-in-law getting ready and Ross hung out with his groomsmen, dad and my father. As the church doors opened and I walked down the aisle with my sweet father, I saw the most perfect man standing at the end waiting for me! I always imagined what our wedding day would be like and I knew no matter what, it would be absolutely perfect! What I didn’t know until the day came, was that it was going to be more perfect than I could have ever imagined. Our ceremony was full of love. Love for one another and most importantly, Christ’s love! Our reception was magical! We laughed, danced and celebrated through the night with our friends and family. It was so wonderful to have so many people that we loved all together in one place to celebrate as we became Mr. & Mrs. Furrever and ever!”
I couldn't have photographed their beautiful day without the help of the AMAZING Paige Alisa Photography!
Cheers to the new Mr. and Mrs. Furr!
