Hi y’all! I’m so excited to be a guest writer on Laura’s blog! I was thrilled when I asked Lar to photograph the shower and she said yes. I wanted every detail captured of Maggie’s bridal shower my mom, and Maggie’s friends, had worked so hard to plan. Shower decorations and DIY projects covered our kitchen and dining room weeks before the day of the shower and I knew my mom was getting anxious to see it all come together.
The theme was centered around wine and books, two of Maggie’s favorite things. Her and Drew (my brother) both love to read and try out different wines. The idea was to fill up their bookshelves and wine rack in their new apartment. My mom and dad made Maggie and Drew a homemade wine rack out of a pallet as a present and decoration for the shower. It was so neat! When guests brought in their wine bottles, they placed them in the rack and put cute tags on them that read “First Anniversary” or “First Married Date Night,” different fun sayings.
Throughout the shower, guests played different games to keep everyone mingling. It was a really good time. “20 Questions” about Maggie was the most fun! Maggie played along and we all were able to see who knew the most about her and her and Drew’s relationship. Mom printed all of the games on cardstock and we had pens scattered around the room for everyone to grab. Wine corks, pom pom banners, pennant banners, and framed signs were all used for decorations. SO much detail went into this shower!
Mom put together meat, veggie, and fruit trays for food. Everyone was able to make little sandwiches and snack throughout the shower. A milk and cookie bar was set up for dessert and doubled as favors. We had cute little paper bags with “Future Mrs. Hatcher” and “Miss to Mrs.” written on them for people to put their cookies in to-go. My favorite thing was the punch! It was ginger ale and white grape juice mixed together, it was delicious! Who knew something so simple could be so yummy?!
Maggie loved everything when she walked in! It was so fun watching her open presents and get excited over every one of them. I know her and Drew are so grateful for everyone who attended, they are one loved couple!
Lar’s photos are beautiful and she did an amazing job capturing every moment. Thank you so much!!
I’m off to the rehearsal dinner now! Wedding weekend has begun!
